Over the past decade, Saginaw has experienced a demographic shift, resulting in an increase in the average age of its population. While many anticipate this trend will continue, the data indicates that the city has reached a new equilibrium. Dr. Cohle will discuss population projections for the near future and how business owners can adapt their practices to capitalize on this new normal.


Zachary H. Cohle, Ph.D., an associate professor of economics at SVSU, specializes in the study of globalization, elections, research and development, and health. Professor Cohle, originally from West Chester, PA, completed his bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, and Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2017. Previously, he has held positions at Quinnipiac University and Texas A&M International University. His academic work has been featured in leading economics journals, including the Southern Economic Journal and the World Economy.…
